This Auction is for the Benito Mussolini's 1939 Lancia Astura which was custom built and commissioned for the Italian Dictator. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a piece of automotive history. Only one is known to exist and to have survived the war.
100% of the proceeds benefit SickKids Foundation. [SickKids

This museum quality vehicle is an immaculate representation of Italian engineering featuring a 4 speed manual transmission powered by a massive 3 liter V8 engine that runs beautifully.
Epitomizing the ideology of this infamous political dictator, the interior is simple but striking, as a set of dark blue leather seat cushions in the front offset a prominent rear squab upholstered in a beautiful slate grey cloth. This luxurious interior is augmented by a series of distinctive and functional pockets and compartments scattered throughout both the front and rear seating area.
Upon first glance, this elegant specimen may pass unnoticed as little more than a pristine antique, but this car exposes its impressive historical roots with a reclining rear seat, adjustable reading lamp and functional window blinds with pure silk pulls which were no doubt intended for Mussolini's personal comfort during transport.
Manufactured with political royalty in mind, this Astura has been equipped with the finest materials available at the time. With vertical sliding pillar front suspension and driver controlled rear shock absorbers, the ride is smooth yet incredibly solid. Twin Bosch dipping spot lamps and Marelli-Bosch horns compliment a set of 16 x 45 Balloon Englebert tires with chrome rims which are outfitted with a set of disc brakes that substitute for drums which were standard for the period.
This beautiful antique is an amalgamation of both political and automotive history, combining both luxury and functionality inside and out, an undeniable automotive treat for both the collector and the driver alike.
This one of a kind automobile had previously been on display at a Niagara Falls Automobile museum, having been visited my Mussolini's son himself until it was sold at auction in 1962. (See the photograph of this rare visit under "Articles of Interest - picture #2"). Until recently this vehicle has been kept in a private collection and was unavailable to the public.
This vehicle was recently donated to SickKids Foundation by an avid car collector with his objective to benefit the Hospital. 100% of the money raised from the sale of this vehicle is being donated to SickKids Foundation.
